Dress Code Policy
We at WPCS believe that appropriate dress and grooming contribute to a productive learning environment. The purpose of the Dress Code is to prevent disruption of the learning environment and minimize the distraction of other students. It is also intended to protect the health and welfare of the student. The major responsibility for dress and grooming is placed upon the student and the student’s parents. Certain exceptions to the dress code may be accepted during official school spirit/dress up days. These exceptions are at the discretion of the classroom teacher and/or site administration.
In addition to the TRUSD dress code, WPCS students are required to dress for success, safety, and physical activity, which includes:
- Clean, neat, and conform to standards of safety, good taste and decency (ex. no bare midriffs, no sagging pants, etc.)
- Shorts must be at or less than 4” above the knee.
- Holes or shreds in jeans must be at or below the required shorts length (no higher than 4” above the knee).
- Undergarments must not be visible.
